Website Development and Digital Projects

Website development has been one of Isura's longstanding interests.

Among his major independent digital projects are Films.lk, Mahawansaya.com, and SinhalaSindu.lk.

Films.lk, established in 2009, is dedicated to documenting and presenting information about Sri Lankan cinema. Through successive improvements and redesigns, the platform has developed into a digital resource covering films, artists, awards, and related historical information.

Mahawansaya.com, established in 2008, reflects his interest in Sri Lankan history. The website presents historical information, royal genealogies, timelines, and visual material intended to make the country's past more accessible to readers.

SinhalaSindu.lk focuses on Sinhala music and its artists, bringing together songs and related information through a dedicated online platform.

Through these initiatives, Isura has sought to use digital technology not only as a professional tool but also as a means of preserving and sharing Sri Lanka's cultural heritage.

Historical Research and Writing

Sri Lankan history has become one of the central interests of Isura's creative and intellectual life.

His research has involved studying historical chronicles, royal dynasties, genealogical relationships, and the political and cultural developments of different periods of Sri Lankan history.

A major outcome of this work was the publication of Mahawansa Pradeepikawa in May 2026.

Developed through approximately ten years of research and preparation, the publication is an extensive, full-colour historical reference work featuring royal genealogies, reconstructed portraits, historical illustrations, and supporting references.

The book also incorporates digital features connecting printed historical material with online resources.

For Isura, the publication represents an effort to present complex historical information in a visually engaging and accessible form, encouraging greater interest in Sri Lanka's past among both present and future generations.
