5th Facebook Workshop - Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda Team, Matale
THE STORY

Date: February 26, 2017
Venue: Sesatha Hotel, Matale, Sri Lanka
Event: Facebook Workshop 05 - Matale
Organised by: Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda (HJM)

On February 26, 2017, the Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda Team successfully conducted its fifth Facebook workshop at Sesatha Hotel in Matale. The event formed part of a series of workshops intended to strengthen communication, coordination and engagement among members involved in the group's social media activities.

A significant milestone of this workshop was the increase in attendance. While the previous four workshops had each been limited to approximately 50 participants, the Matale workshop attracted nearly 75 members, reflecting growing interest in the programme.

The workshop featured presentations by attorney Premnath Dolawatte and Dr. Mahinda Pathirana, who shared their knowledge and guidance with participants.

The contribution of Matale District team leader Nalaka Bandara Kottegoda deserves particular recognition. His efforts in arranging facilities, coordinating local participants and supporting the organisational requirements played an important role in the event. Sanjaya and other members of the Matale team also contributed to its successful delivery.

The event was attended by several political representatives and invited guests, including then Member of Parliament Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, Central Provincial Minister Isura Bandara Tennakoon and former Deputy Minister Rohana Dissanayake.

I was pleased to contribute alongside our team to the organisational activities of this workshop. Bringing together members from different areas provided opportunities to strengthen personal connections, exchange experiences and improve coordination within the group.

For me, the fifth Facebook workshop was another meaningful experience in social media-related organisational work, teamwork and event coordination. The increased participation and cooperation among regional members were particularly encouraging aspects of the occasion.
