On 10 December 2019, I attended the media screening of the Sri Lankan film Vishama Bhaga (The Other Half) at the Savoy Cinema, Wellawatte as an invited guest.

The film had received recognition through numerous local and international film festivals and represents an important Sri Lankan cinematic work exploring social and human themes. The screening provided an opportunity to watch the film alongside members of the media, film-industry professionals and other invited guests.

Significance in My Journey

My participation in this event forms part of my broader, long-standing involvement with Sri Lankan cinema. Through Films.lk, I have worked for many years to document, preserve and make information about Sri Lankan films, artists and cinema history accessible through digital media.

Attending media screenings such as Vishama Bhaga also provided direct engagement with contemporary Sri Lankan cinema and complemented my continuing work in cinema documentation and digital preservation.
