Sri Pada Pilgrimage with My Son

On 7 March 2020, I made the pilgrimage to Sri Pada together with my son. Beginning the journey during the night and making our way step by step towards the summit became a memorable experience that we shared together as father and son.

There was another special moment during this journey. Along the pilgrimage route, I was able to see the environmental awareness boards that our team had installed in 2019. A year later, the boards were still in place, carrying the environmental messages that had been introduced as part of our earlier effort to encourage visitors to protect and keep the Sri Pada environment clean.

It was especially meaningful that I could show these boards to my son during our journey. Seeing a small contribution that we had made for the environment still remaining there added another personal dimension to the pilgrimage.

For me, therefore, this was more than a pilgrimage to Sri Pada. It became a father and son memory, while also reconnecting me with an environmental service project that our team had carried out the previous year.
