Presenting "Mahawansa Pradeepikawa" to the Supreme Mahanayaka Thero of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya
Mt. Lavinia · Colombo · Sri Lanka · Sri Dharmendrarama Viharaya

Date: 03 June 2026
It was a deeply honoured moment in my life to present a copy of "Mahawansa Pradeepikawa", the result of nearly a decade of research and creative dedication, to Most Venerable Karagoda Uyangoda Maithree Murthi Nayaka Thero, Supreme Mahanayaka of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya.
After receiving the book, the Most Venerable Thero examined it with great interest. Of its 650 pages, he carefully looked through nearly 100 pages during the visit itself. As the author, seeing such close attention being given to the work was a deeply rewarding experience.
Expressing his appreciation of the book, the Most Venerable Thero told me that the years of time and effort devoted to this work would never be wasted. His further observation that the book was truly "a Pradeepikawa to the Mahawansa" was especially meaningful to me.
After years of research, study, design and dedication behind this work, receiving such words from a highly respected senior Buddhist prelate became one of the most treasured recognitions associated with my journey as the author of "Mahawansa Pradeepikawa".
I respectfully wish the Most Venerable Thero continued strength, good health and courage to carry forward his service to the Buddha Sasana.
