Project Overview

The Online Packaging Solutions Inc. (Online PSI) website was developed by Isura Wickramarachchi in 2007 in partnership with SIMULA CORP. The project was built as a dynamic ASP.NET (ASPX) e-commerce platform for an Australian packaging products supplier, enabling customers and distributors to browse products, access packaging specifications, and purchase products online.

Unlike a traditional company website, this project combined corporate information with an online shopping experience, allowing the company to promote its extensive range of packaging products while supporting distributor registrations and online sales.

Design & Structure

The website was designed with a modern corporate appearance using a combination of black, red, grey, and green, creating a strong industrial identity that reflected the packaging industry.

The homepage features a large product showcase highlighting the company's packaging solutions, while the right-hand sidebar displays promotional products and featured items. A dedicated user login section allows registered distributors and customers to access their accounts.

The central content area introduces the company's services and products, with quick links directing visitors to shopping, distributor registration, product specifications, and downloadable catalogues.

Unique Design Concept

The project was designed to combine corporate branding with an integrated online sales platform.

Instead of separating product information and online purchasing, the website presented both within a single interface, allowing customers to move directly from browsing products to placing orders.

Special emphasis was placed on providing resources for both retail customers and distributors through dedicated sections such as Become a Distributor, Print Specifications, Rewards, and Download Catalogue, creating a complete online business portal rather than a simple product catalogue.
