Project Overview
The Love.lk website was designed and developed by Isura Wickramarachchi in 2008 as a dynamic PHP/MySQL online social networking and matchmaking platform. The website provided a safe environment for Sri Lankan users to create personal profiles, meet new people, exchange messages, send virtual greeting cards, and access relationship-related articles and advice.
The platform combined social networking features with educational content on relationships, making it one of the early locally developed online community websites in Sri Lanka.
Significance
The Love.lk project demonstrated Isura Wickramarachchi's expertise in developing large-scale community-driven web applications during the early growth of social networking platforms in Sri Lanka. By integrating member management, messaging, virtual greeting cards, educational relationship content, and interactive community features into a single platform, the website provided users with an engaging online experience while showcasing advanced PHP/MySQL application development and database design.
