Second Facebook Workshop – Galle

Date: 24 September 2016
Location: Galle, Sri Lanka
Organized by: Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda Team

On 24 September 2016, the second Facebook workshop organized by the Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda team was held in Galle. The workshop brought together a group of social-media activists from the Galle area to exchange knowledge and practical experience relating to the use of social-media platforms.

Among those who attended were Sampath Athukorala and Isuru Dodangoda, together with a number of social-media activists from the region. The programme provided an opportunity for participants to discuss and share practical knowledge and experiences relating to Facebook and social-media communication.

As seen in the photographs, the session included presentations using a laptop and projector, together with direct discussions among the participants. Rather than being a large formal event, it provided an environment in which a smaller group could interact directly and exchange practical knowledge.

For me, this remains a memorable part of my early involvement in social media—particularly the efforts to share knowledge and experience with activists from different parts of Sri Lanka through workshops of this nature.
