Receiving the Blessings of the Mahanayaka Thero at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya

Date: 06 May 2026
Location: Malwathu Maha Viharaya, Kandy

Before the official launch of "Mahawansa Pradeepikawa" on 16 May 2026, I wished to receive the blessings of the Maha Sangha for a work that had become the result of nearly ten years of study, research and dedicated effort.

On 06 May 2026, I therefore had the privilege of visiting the Malwathu Maha Viharaya in Kandy and meeting Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayaka Thero of the Malwathu Chapter of the Siam Maha Nikaya. During this special meeting, I respectfully presented a copy of "Mahawansa Pradeepikawa" and received his blessings.

The Most Venerable Mahanayaka Thero expressed his appreciation for the way the book had been carefully and attractively compiled with the aim of presenting Sri Lankan history to a new generation in a more engaging and meaningful manner. He also offered his blessings and wished me strength and courage to continue producing valuable works that could deepen historical understanding and strengthen an appreciation of the country's heritage among younger generations.

Receiving these blessings just ten days before the public launch of "Mahawansa Pradeepikawa" became a deeply meaningful milestone in the long journey behind the book and an occasion I will always remember.

I respectfully wish the Most Venerable Mahanayaka Thero a long and healthy life, together with continued strength and courage to carry forward his distinguished service to the Buddha Sasana.
