Returning to Qatar After My Holiday

This journey marked my return to Qatar after completing a holiday in Sri Lanka, once again returning to my work and everyday life abroad. Leaving Sri Lanka after a holiday always carries mixed emotions, especially when it means saying goodbye to home and loved ones before returning to life overseas.

The photographs capture different moments of the journey, from waiting at Colombo airport and boarding the aircraft to looking through the window during the flight.

Within the wider story of my years in Qatar, journeys between CMB and DOH have their own place in my personal archive. They represent more than flights between two countries. They mark the repeated transitions between my family and personal life in Sri Lanka and my working life in Qatar.
