On 15 September 2020, I had the opportunity to distribute clothing among Tamil children living with very limited facilities at Wigton Estate in Rozella, Hatton.

Visiting the estate and meeting the children in their own community made this a particularly meaningful experience. We distributed the clothes we had brought among the young children, while also being able to provide suitable clothing to some of the girls and young women living on the estate.

This was not something I accomplished alone. Many of the clothes had been generously given to me by my friends so that they could reach people who genuinely needed them. Their kindness allowed us to personally take these donations to the estate community and place them directly into the hands of the recipients.

Regardless of ethnicity, language or where they live, the happiness of a child is universal. Seeing the smiles and excitement of these children made the experience far more valuable than the material items we were able to give.

My heartfelt gratitude goes to all my friends who contributed clothing for this effort. Something you chose to give brought happiness to another child that day.
