Project Overview

MAK Gallery was designed and developed by Isura Wickramarachchi in 2007 as the official website for a Sri Lankan manufacturer specialising in eco-friendly handcrafted gift items and decorative products. The website was created to introduce the company's unique collection of handmade crafts to both local and international customers while promoting Sri Lankan craftsmanship and environmentally sustainable products.

The website presented the company's profile, handcrafted product range, manufacturing philosophy, and contact information in a clean and professional online catalogue.

Design & Structure

The design reflected the artistic and handcrafted nature of the business through the use of warm earth-tone colours, elegant floral background patterns, and textured design elements that created a premium handcrafted appearance.

A large feature image on the homepage immediately introduced visitors to the brand, while the main content area combined the company profile with highlighted products. A dedicated sidebar displayed new arrivals, a product search feature, and contact information, making the website both visually attractive and practical for customers.

The layout balanced modern web usability with traditional craft-inspired design, creating a distinctive identity that matched the company's handmade product collection.

Every visual element—from the earthy colour palette to the decorative floral patterns—was carefully selected to reinforce the company's focus on eco-friendly handcrafted products.
