Napoli Buddhist Vihara Website
ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project Overview

The Napoli Buddhist Vihara website was designed and developed by Isura Wickramarachchi in 2011 as the official online presence of the Napoli Buddhist Vihara, serving the Sri Lankan Buddhist community in Italy. The website provided a platform to share Buddhist teachings, temple news, religious events, photographs, multimedia content, and educational resources while helping devotees stay connected with the temple regardless of their location.

Design & Structure

The website was designed using a warm golden and saffron colour palette, inspired by traditional Buddhist colours to create a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. The homepage featured a large illustration of Lord Buddha with elegant ornamental artwork, immediately establishing the religious identity of the website.

The layout consisted of:

  • A horizontal navigation menu for quick access to all major sections.
  • A central content area displaying Buddhist verses, announcements, and featured content.
  • Religious-themed artwork and decorative floral elements that enhanced the visual appeal.
  • A clean and uncluttered structure designed to make information easily accessible for visitors of all ages.

The overall design reflected the calmness, simplicity, and dignity associated with Buddhist philosophy while maintaining a modern web presentation.
