Christ Church Girls School - Baddegama
ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project Overview

The Christ Church Girls' College website was designed and developed by Isura Wickramarachchi in 2011 as a dynamic PHP/MySQL website for one of Sri Lanka's historic national schools. Developed as a charity project, the website provided the school with its first comprehensive online presence, enabling the administration to communicate effectively with students, parents, alumni, and the wider community.

The project was coordinated by Dinushi Munasinghe, a past pupil of Christ Church Girls' College, who also developed the backend systems and administration modules. Together, the project delivered a modern digital platform that showcased the school's history, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, news, events, and student life while providing an easy-to-manage content management system for the school administration.

Significance

The Christ Church Girls' College website represents one of Isura Wickramarachchi's most meaningful educational projects, combining professional web development with community service. Developed entirely as a charity initiative, the project provided the school with a modern online platform that strengthened communication between the administration, students, parents, alumni, and the wider community while preserving and promoting the school's long-standing educational heritage.

The success of the project was made possible through the collaboration between Isura Wickramarachchi, who designed the user interface and developed the frontend experience, and Dinushi Munasinghe, a past pupil of the school who served as Project Coordinator and Backend Developer, implementing the content management system and administration modules. Their combined efforts produced a comprehensive digital platform that enabled school staff to manage news, events, achievements, photo galleries, and institutional information efficiently. The project stands as an excellent example of how technology and voluntary service can be brought together to support education and provide lasting value to a school community.
