Project Overview

The Big 5 Interiors website was designed and developed by Isura Wickramarachchi in 2008 as the official online presence for an interior design company specialising in interior decoration, custom furnishings, paintings, and decorative accessories.

The website was created to showcase the company's portfolio, introduce its services, and present its products through an elegant visual experience that reflected the creativity of the interior design industry.

Design & Structure

The website featured one of the most creative interface concepts of its time, designed to resemble an open luxury catalogue or presentation book placed on a stylish textured background.

The left page displayed large, high-quality photographs of interior spaces, allowing visitors to immediately appreciate the company's design capabilities. The right page acted as the information panel, containing the company logo, navigation menu, and product categories. Decorative floral artwork surrounding the catalogue added a sophisticated artistic touch, while the warm orange and dark textured background created a premium, luxurious atmosphere.

Instead of using a conventional website layout, the entire interface was designed to simulate the experience of browsing a high-end interior design portfolio, making the website both memorable and visually engaging.

Unique Design Concept

The website was built around the concept of a luxury interior design catalogue. Every page was presented as if visitors were turning the pages of an elegant design book, creating a unique browsing experience that matched the company's creative identity.
