Facebook Leadership Workshop – Kalutara District (4th District Workshop)

The Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda (HJM) Team successfully conducted its 4th District Facebook Leadership Workshop in Kalutara on 27 November 2016 as part of its nationwide initiative to develop 1,000 second-line social media leaders.

Held as a full-day training programme, the workshop focused on effective use of social media, Facebook page and community management, digital communication strategies, content creation, campaign planning, audience engagement, volunteer coordination, and practical techniques for managing online outreach activities.

The programme brought together a large number of young volunteers and social media activists from across the Kalutara District. Through hands-on demonstrations, practical exercises, and interactive discussions, participants enhanced their digital communication skills and learned how to use social media responsibly and effectively for community engagement.

This workshop formed an important part of HJM's island-wide Facebook leadership training programme and contributed to building a strong network of skilled digital volunteers capable of supporting future community service initiatives and public awareness campaigns.
